Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangmingand Health Qigong

Stomach meridian of foot-yangming starts at paranasal, its running course direction starts at head and ends at foot, upward connects with large intestine meridian of hand-yangming, downward connects with spleen meridian. Specific running course: it starts from Yingxiang point, two sides of ala nasi, upward extends along lateral side of nose, intersects at nose root, connects eyes to two sides, connects with bladder meridian, then along external side of nasal septum, extends downward, accesses upper gingival, twists back at lips and intersects at Chengjiang point, return, along mandible extends downward, backward, along angle of mandible accesses to ear upward, along hair line accesses forehead.

The first branch downward extends to Renying point along front of Daying point, along throat downward, extends backward to Duzhui point, extends forward by changing direction, accesses supraclavicular fossa, passes through diaphragm downward, accesses stomach, and connects with spleen. The second branch extends out of body surface from supraclavicular fossa, along Ruzhong line extends downward, extends downward by passing by two sides of navel and accesses Qichong point. The third branch disengages from pylorus of stomach lower mouth, along enterocoelia extends downward to Qichong point and connects with Zhixingmai, by passing anterior upper portion of the thigh, along ventro-thigh, leading edge of limb bone, acrotarsium accesses Lidui point at external side of toes. The fourth branch disengages from Zusanli point, extends downward to outside end of middle toe. The fifth branch disengages from instep Chongyang point, along internal side of hallux toe, accesses to toe-end Yinbai point and intersects at spleen meridian.

Viscera organs that are connected with stomach meridian of foot-yangming are spleen, stomach, nose, upper teeth, lips, throat, mainly treat inappetence, stomachache, emesis, dysphagia, ventosity, diarrhea, dysentery, astriction and other gastroenteropathy, eye, nose, mouth, teeth and other diseases related to five sense organs, demented diseases, fever, lower limbs pain or numbness, twitch and other diseases related to running course of meridians. The meridian has 45 acupuncture points. Acupuncture points subject to stimulus of Health Qigong are mainly: Chengqi, Dicang, Tianshu, Shuidao, Zusanli, Fenglong, chieh hsi, Neiting and Lidui point.

In eighty-eight exercise movements of Health Qigong, the following actions have vital stimulus roles to stomach meridian of foot-yangming and main acupoint: Nine Ghosts Drawing Sabers in Yi Jin Jing that turning chest backward rubs spleen and stomach; Bear Exercise in Wu Qin Xi that massaging spleen and stomach strengthens transportation and transformation function; Hu Exercise in Liu Zi Jue that excretes foul smell in spleen and stomach and helps digestion; Holding One Arm Aloft to Regulate the Functions of the Spleen and Stomach in Ba Duan Jin that massages and regulates spleen and stomach; Wild Duck Swimming in Mawangdui Daoyin Shu that idiodynamics passes Chengqi, Tianshu, Zusanli, Lidui point of stomach meridian when two arms descending from head; Caressing the Belly and Abdomen in Shi Er Duan Jin that massages abdominal organs and regulates digestive function; Lotus Flower Appears Above the Water in Daoyin Yangshenggong Shi Er Fa that harmonizing stomach and tonifying spleen, dredging three yin meridians of foot, three yang meridians of foot; Wild Geese Land on the beach in Daoyin Yangshenggong Shi Er Fa that squat and dredge three yin meridians of foot, three yang meridians of foot; Boat Rows Slowly and Boatman Tows a Boat in Taiji Yangsheng Zhang that bending and stretching ankle stimulates three yin meridians of foot, three yang meridians of foot;
