Grasp the Law of Qi Movement and Learn "Holding the Hands High with Palms up to Regulate the Internal Organs"(Ⅲ)

Third, the ways to realize the action essentials of “Holding the Hands High with Palms up to Regulate the Internal Organs"

Training materials for social sports instructor of Health Qigong" shows that the movements of Holding the Hands High with Palms up to Regulate the Internal Organs start from fingers separating and crossing in front of the abdomen, palms up and looking straight ahead. Then straighten legs slowly, at the same time, lift palms to the front of chest, with palms up, raise the head and look at the palms. Then, continue to lift arms and straighten the elbows, at the same time, draw the chin back, and stop for a moment, and look straight ahead. And the center of gravity slowly falling down, and bending legs slowly. While separating fingers slowly, arms falling down by both sides of the body, palms up in front of abdomen, and ending with looking front. Repeat the movements six times.

According to the comprehensive view of its movement methods, how to understanding its action essentials? According to Gong connotation and my practice experience and teaching experience, and that we should be realized that the following three steps:

Firstly, regulate form with thought and smooth qi with form

At first, it should take the initiative to adjust the body (including action routes and procedures, etc.), so that the movements of body conform with the circulation of qi, that is, the ascending, descending, opening and closing of movements are in harmony with the upward-downward and outward-inward functional activities of qi, and thus achieving the purposes of promoting the circulation of blood and qi, and keeping fit. Specific methods: In the relaxed and nature state, use the consciousness to slowly lift hands to the front of chest and straighten knees, look up and drive hands turn inward and reach the top of head, with palms up. Then draw back the chin, continue to raise palms and straighten arms, which is like the hands touching the sky. At the same time, imagine lowering the coccyx and feet standing deeply into the earth, forming the unity of opposites of yin and yang. Stop for a moment. Then exercisers will notice the self-motion of lifting the anus and abdomen in, as well as experience the tension of muscles in the whole spine, both sides of the chest, back, waist and legs. It is obvious that "regulating form with thought" enable qi (strength) reach hands and feet in the relaxed and soft movements, meanwhile, the bones and muscles of body are stretched to the maximum extent. Then, successively relax the body section by section from waist to chest, from chest to shoulder, arms and hands. Both arms and hands separate naturally and fall down in the front of abdomen, so as to restore the pleuroperitoneal cavity after expansion, and relax the internal organs. For example, cooperate with inhaling when ascending, stop breathing for a moment in the set action, exhaling when hands falling down, exercisers will notice that qi of the body ascends along with the lifting of hands, and descends along with the falling of hands, which is very smooth, comfortable and natural. Thus, it is obvious that taking the initiative to adjust the body movements with awareness is conductive to make the ascending, descending, opening and closing of movements harmonize with the upward-downward and outward-inward functional activities of qi, and thus achieving the purposes of promoting the circulation of blood and qi. In addition, the ascending and descending of movements, inhaling and exhaling, and opening and closing of waist and abdomen help to automatically form the reverse abdominal breathing method, which is really auto modulation. The reverse abdominal breathing method is the ideal breathing exercise.
